Do you have tools or small objects made of metal that have surface rust or grime? Cleaning rust from a metal object can easily be done by using a store bought product. However, they contain chemicals that can be harmful. A better option is to use a homemade rust remover.

Making a homemade rust remover is really easy to do. In fact, most of the ingredients you will need may already be in your kitchen. The one ingredient that you might need to buy is denatured alcohol and maybe a decent scratch pad. You will also need a bucket or suitable plastic container.

Place the item in the container and cover it with vinegar. You will then need to add the other ingredients for your homemade rust remover. The item will need to soak in the bucket for at least 12 hours. You are then going to put it in a water and baking soda solution.
